VSCAB Member Spotlight: Karen McGee

Volunteer Services has the privilege of having an advisory board comprised of influential, wise and talented community members.  Member Karen McGee has been training volunteers and parents in reading and writing for Volunteer Services for over 14 years. She is awesome volunteer in her grandchildren’s classrooms and has a passion for ballroom dancing.  She has a special love of early childhood learning and is also a volunteer with the Assistance League.  Her expertise is remarkable and her talents are so appreciated. 

We proudly introduce Karen McGee: Karen is currently retired and is an Independent Consultant for Scholastic Classroom Libraries. She received her B.S. in Elementary and Physical Education from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1967. She received her M.A. in Reading from the University of Nevada in 1988. From 1989 through 2004, she served as Reading Coordinator for K-12. Prior to that, she was a kindergarten teacher at Elizabeth Lenz Elementary School.
